HUL Share Price Surges Over 3% Post Appointment Of Priya Nair As CEO

Shares of Hindustan Unilever Ltd., rose over 3% on Friday after the company announced the appointment of Priya Nair as the chief executive officer — the first woman to take up the role in the FMCG major.

Nair takes up the role as incumbent Rohit Jawa steps down, effective July 31, as per a press release.

Nair, a veteran in the consumer goods industry, brings nearly three decades of experience across building brands and driving category growth across geographies. She was previously the business group president of the beauty and well-being segment.

HUL Share Price Surges Over 3% Post Appointment Of Priya Nair As CEO

Shares of HUL rose as much as 3.83% to Rs 2,500.60 apiece. They pared gains to trade 3.74% higher at Rs 2,498.40 apiece, as of 9:22 a.m. This compares to a 0.23% decline in the NSE Nifty 50.

The stock has fallen 4.04% in the last 12 months and risen 7.57% year-to-date. Total traded volume so far in the day stood at 1.68 times its 30-day average. The relative strength index was at 54.55.

Out of 44 analysts tracking the company, 28maintain a 'buy' rating, 12 recommend a 'hold' and four suggest 'sell', according to Bloomberg data. The average 12-month consensus price target implies an upside of 1.3%.
