Shares of Hindustan Unilever Ltd., rose over 3% on Friday after the company announced the appointment of Priya Nair as the chief executive officer — the first woman to take up the role in the FMCG major.

Shares of HUL rose as much as 3.83% to Rs 2,500.60 apiece. They pared gains to trade 3.74% higher at Rs 2,498.40 apiece, as of 9:22 a.m. This compares to a 0.23% decline in the NSE Nifty 50.
