FPIs Remain Net Sellers Of Indian Equities For Two Weeks In A Row
FPIs have sold Indian equities for two straight weeks. The DIIs bought shares worth over Rs 10,000 crore on Thursday.

Foreign portfolio investors stayed net sellers of Indian equities for the 14th straight session on Thursday, Aug. 7, and sold stocks worth approx. Rs 4,997 crore, according to provisional data from the National Stock Exchange. The DIIs that have been buyers for the 24th session bought stocks worth Rs 10,864 crore.
The FPIs have sold shares worth Rs 17,741 crore in July, as per NSDL data. In 2025 so far, the FPIs have net sold equities worth over Rs 1.03 lakh crore. On Aug. 6, US President Donald Trump doubled the tariff rate on Indian imports to 50% over the country's continuing buying of Russian crude oil.

The Indian equity benchmarks closed in the green, recovering sharply during the last hour of trade, to snap its two-day decline. The NSE Nifty 50 had declined as much as 0.94% during the day, as investors turned jittery following the doubling of import tariffs on India by US President Donald Trump.
A fight back from the bulls, however, ensured that the market settled with gains. Hero MotoCorp, Tech Mahindra, JSW Steel, Wipro and Eternal were the key gainers. The NSE Nifty 50 benchmark ended 21 points, or 0.09% higher at 24,596 and the 30-stock BSE Sensex ended 79 points, or 0.10% lower at 80,623.
