Foreign portfolio investors were net buyers of equities for the third straight day on Wednesday.
Overseas investor net bought equities worth Rs 1,781 crore on July 20, provisional data from National Stock Exchanged showed. That's the biggest single-day buying since April 1 when this category bought Rs 1,910 crore worth of stocks.
The domestic institutional investors net sold stocks worth Rs 230.2 crore on Wednesday.
Institutional investors have net bought Rs 333.9 crore worth of equities in July and Rs 52,084.1 crore so far this year.
