10 Most-Valued Firms Gain Rs 25,000 Crore In Market Cap, Led By RIL

The NSE Nifty 50 closed 98.10 points or 0.41% higher at 23,742.90, and the BSE Sensex ended 368.40 points or 0.47% higher at 78,507.41.

The top 10 most-valued firms gained a cumulative Rs 25,002 crore in market valuation on Wednesday, with Reliance Industries Ltd. and HDFC Bank Ltd. emerging as the biggest gainers.

RIL added Rs 7,848 crore, taking its market capitalisation to Rs 16.5 lakh crore. HDFC Bank saw an increase of Rs 7,571 crore in its market cap, which now stands at Rs 13.6 lakh crore.

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. and Bharti Airtel Ltd. added Rs 6,385 crore and Rs 4,528 crore respectively. ICICI Bank Ltd.'s market capitalisation increased by Rs 1,411 crore to Rs 9.06 lakh crore, while Infosys Ltd. and ITC Ltd. added Rs 1,038 crore and 375 crore respectively.

State Bank of India's market capitalization decreased Rs 1,561 crore to Rs 7.07 lakh crore. HCL Technologies Ltd. and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. saw a decline of Rs 1,478 crore and Rs 1,116 crore respectively.

RIL retained its position as the most-valued firm, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Airtel, ICICI Bank, Infosys, SBI, Hindustan Unilever, ITC and HCLTech.

The NSE Nifty 50 closed 98.10 points or 0.41% higher at 23,742.90, and the BSE Sensex ended 368.40 points or 0.47% higher at 78,507.41.

The market breadth was skewed in favour of the buyers as 2,747 stocks advanced, 1,237 declined and 86 remained unchanged on the BSE.

The broader markets outperformed the benchmark as the BSE MidCap and SmallCap ended 0.50% and 1.03% higher respectively.

On the BSE, 19 sectors advanced and two declined. The BSE Auto advanced the most and Realty declined the most.
