interviews to select a new coach for the Indian men's cricket team will be held on July 10 in Mumbai, according to cricket advisory committee (CAC) member Sourav Ganguly.
"The interview will be held on July 10 in Mumbai," Ganguly told reporters before leaving for London to attend MCC's World Cricket Committee meeting at Lord's on July 3 and 4.
The former India captain is one of the three members of the CAC, alongside Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman.
Former India team director Ravi Shastri has emerged as a front runner for the top job, for which the likes of Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Lalchand Rajput, Richard Pybus and Dodda Ganesh have also applied.
July 9 is the deadline to apply for the top job, which fell vacant when coach Anil Kumble stepped down after a rift with team captain Virat Kohli.
Kumble's decision came in the wake of reports of power struggles between him and Kohli, and just two days after India's loss to Pakistan in the Champions Trophy final. The former spinner's one year contract expired at the end of the Champions Trophy tournament but he was given the option to travel with the team to West Indies for an ongoing limited-overs series. However, Kumble decided to stay back in London for the ICC Annual Conference as he is the chairman of the Cricket Committee while the Indian team left for Barbados.
The team did well under Kumble in the past 12 months, winning a Test series in the West Indies before winning at home against New Zealand, England, Bangladesh and Australia.
