Just days before its theatrical release, Varun Dhawan starrer Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai has landed in fresh trouble after the film's much-awaited trailer launch event in Mumbai was suddenly cancelled on Thursday.
The event, which was expected to unveil the trailer of the David Dhawan directorial in a grand way, was called off at the last minute.
Makers Cite Technical Difficulties
Soon after the cancellation, the film's team shared an official statement on social media, attributing the delay to technical issues.
“We regret to inform you that the trailer launch event for Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, scheduled for today, has been cancelled due to unforeseen technical difficulties. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding and continued support. We look forward to sharing the trailer with you soon,” the statement read.

The makers, however, did not reveal when the trailer would now be launched.
Legal Row Around ‘Chunari Chunari'
The sudden cancellation comes amid an ongoing dispute linked to the remix version of “Chunari Chunari,” the popular track originally featured in the 1999 film Biwi No.1.
Producer Vashu Bhagnani and Pooja Entertainment had reportedly raised objections over the alleged unauthorised usage of the song.
Following the controversy, Tips Music Limited released a clarification saying the company legally owns the rights to the music through a “valid and binding agreement.” The label also described the allegations against them as “malicious” and aimed at harming their goodwill.
Meanwhile, speaking to NDTV, advocate VK Dubey, representing Pooja Entertainment, questioned the “technical glitch” explanation behind the cancelled event.
“Calling it a mere ‘technical glitch' is nothing but an attempt to divert attention from the real issue,” Dubey said. He further claimed that legal proceedings, including allegations related to copyright infringement, cheating, criminal breach of trust and conspiracy, are currently under judicial investigation.
He also alleged that court notices had been issued to David Dhawan and members associated with Tips Industries.

Release Date And Cast
The film's release schedule has also seen several changes in recent months. It was initially planned for June 5 before shifting dates multiple times due to a box-office clash with Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups starring Yash.
After multiple revisions, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is now set to hit theatres on June 5.
Alongside Varun Dhawan, the film stars Pooja Hegde, Mrunal Thakur, Maniesh Paul, Chunky Pandey, Jimmy Shergill, Mouni Roy and Ali Asgar in key roles.
