Bhooth Bangla has joined the Rs 100 crore club worldwide, achieving the milestone within just four days of its release. This marks a strong comeback moment for Akshay Kumar, even as weekday numbers show the usual slowdown.
Directed by Priyadarshan, the horror-comedy hit theatres on April 18, 2026, and quickly gained momentum over the opening weekend. However, like most big releases, the film saw a sharp drop on its first Monday. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 6.75 crore net in India on day 4, a sharp drop of over 70% from Sunday's Rs 23 crore.
Despite the dip, the film's domestic total remains solid. With four days of run, its India net collection stands at Rs 64.75 crore, aided by a strong weekend push and wide release across 10,984 shows.
Where the film truly shines is in its global performance. Bhooth Bangla added another Rs 2.50 crore from overseas markets on Monday, taking its international gross to Rs 29 crore. Combined with India's gross earnings of Rs 77.34 crore, the film's worldwide total has now reached Rs 106.34 crore—comfortably entering the Rs 100 crore club.
The film's day-wise India net collections reflect its trajectory: Rs 3.75 crore from paid previews, followed by Rs 12.25 crore on day 1, Rs 19 crore on day 2, Rs 23 crore on day 3, and Rs 6.75 crore on day 4.
Interestingly, this milestone comes amid the IPL fever and mixed audience reviews, both of which usually impact collections. It is also benefiting from the gradual slowdown of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, which is nearing the end of its theatrical run.
The film is also doing significantly better than Dacoit: A Love Story, which has managed Rs 50.60 crore globally despite releasing a week earlier.
The film tells the story of Arjun Acharya, played by Akshay Kumar, who plans a grand wedding for his sister in an old ancestral mansion—unaware that the property is haunted. With a large ensemble cast including Mithila Palkar, Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Mithun Chakraborty, and others, the film blends spooky moments with comedy, a formula that has worked well for family audiences.
With its current pace, all eyes are now on whether the film can maintain momentum through the weekdays and emerge as a sustained box office success.
