The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has launched a national AI skilling initiative in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) to train 15,000 professionals from the creative and media sectors.
The no-cost initiative for upgrading skills of digital professionals is in partnership with Google and YouTube, and the training will be organised in major cities across India.
The event was launched in the presence of senior officials from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, the head of YouTube India, and prominent figures from the media industry.

The programme targets emerging talent across media, entertainment, animation, gaming, and digital storytelling. It is aimed at budding creators, YouTubers, media professionals, and digital enthusiasts looking to build AI-driven content using cutting-edge technologies in India's digital economy.
What Does The Programme Offer?
Participants will receive access to 15,000 scholarships and structured learning modules focused on AI tools and applications in content creation. The initiative introduces learners to cutting-edge technologies shaping the media landscape.
The programme also highlights MyWAVES, a new platform for creators on WAVES OTT, along with improvements like built-in satellite tuners and an advanced programme guide to enhance accessibility of DD Free Dish.
Course Structure And Timeline
The initiative will run in two phases between March and December 2026:
Phase I (March 23 – June 30, 2026): Focus on foundational AI learning, including Google Career Certificates and Google Cloud generative AI learning paths.
Phase II (July – December 2026): Advanced, project-based specialisation tailored for the media industry.
Participants will receive hands-on training in AI tools such as Gemini 3, Nano Banana, Veo, and Vertex AI, enabling them to create more engaging content.
