Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday said that the government will soon be launching the 'Create in India' Mission, which will be employment and future oriented.
Vaishnaw made the remarks while interacting with Charles Rivkin, the CEO and Chairman of the Motion Picture Association, at India AI Impact Summit.
The minister stated that the talent pipeline which is getting created because of AI adoption, training programs and skilling and upskilling programs, is going to create more opportunities.
"Apart from the natural growth which is happening, very soon, the government will launch the 'Create in India' mission. The mission will be very industry, employment and future oriented. It will look at strengthening what we have, making sure we become the most preferred platform for the world and create a future-ready talent pipeline," Vaishnaw said.

He also emphasized that India is openly adapting new technology. "We are working on facilitating new skilling, upskilling and new-skilling, along with AI safety, cybersecurity track, and multiple other things."
Stating that there are positive impacts of AI — including weather forecasting, climate change, agriculture, the discovery of new materials, and productivity gains, the minister said that there are potential negative impacts too, and the government was looking at how to balance these impacts.
Further, the minister noted that the rapid spread of deepfakes and misinformation are eroding trust in families, social institutions and governance, striking at the very foundations that hold society together.
"The social media platforms, the AI models and creators will have to take the responsibility of making sure that the new technology strengthens trust, rather than reducing and creating break-up. There has to be a legal and technical solution."
Earlier in the evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India AI Impact Expo at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, and interacted with startups participating in the expo.
