In an extraordinary surge of compassion and unity, people across Kashmir have rallied massively to support war-hit Iran, with donations soaring past Rs 600 crore in just two days.

From Srinagar to Budgam, Baramulla, and Bandipora, donation centres witnessed an overwhelming response as individuals from all walks of life contributed cash, gold, jewellery, utensils, livestock, and even personal belongings.

The campaign transcended sectarian divides, with both Shia and Sunni communities actively joining in with equal zeal. The contributions ranged from cash and cheques to gold ornaments, silverware, copper utensils, tipper truck, motor bikes, and livestock.

Women parted with treasured heirlooms, while children brought their piggy banks to collection centres. In one poignant instance, a widow gave away gold she had preserved as a cherished reminder of her late husband, reflecting the profound emotion fueling the movement.

Local volunteers struggled to manage the influx as people continued to arrive steadily in last two days. Many donors chose to remain anonymous, quietly placing their contributions before leaving.

At a donation centre in Delina, Baramulla, an eight-year-old boy brought along his brand-new bicycle and gave it away for Iran.

“I haven't even ridden it once, but I cannot enjoy it while children in Iran are fighting to survive,” he said, his voice filled with emotion.

Community leaders reiterate that their is no political motive behind this campaign and initiative is driven by humanitarian concern only.

“This is not just charity—it is solidarity,” said local organisers, highlighting how the collective response reflects Kashmir's shared conscience and empathy for those affected by conflict.

The Iranian Embassy in New Delhi acknowledged the outpouring of support, describing it as deeply moving and a source of comfort for the people of Iran.

Meanwhile, authorities have introduced regulations requiring prior permission and transparency in donation drives, even as contributions continue to pour in.
