BMC Collects Record Property Tax Of Rs 6,198 Crore In FY25
The country’s wealthiest municipal corporation, had set a target of Rs 6,200 crore for property tax collection and successfully achieved 99.97% of it.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has collected a record-high property tax of Rs 6,198 crore in the financial year 2024-25, nearly achieving its target, officials said on Tuesday. In a statement, the civic body described the collection as "record-breaking."
BMC, the country’s wealthiest municipal corporation, had set a target of Rs 6,200 crore for property tax collection and successfully achieved 99.97% of it.
Among the city’s wards, G South, which covers areas like Lower Parel and Worli, contributed the highest amount at Rs 624.50 crore. This was followed by K East and K West wards, which collected Rs 526.64 crore and Rs 504 crore, respectively.
Additionally, Rs 178.39 crore was collected in the form of fines, the release said.
