16th Finance Commission Begins Andhra Pradesh Visit To Discuss Revenue Sharing
On Wednesday, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is slated to deliver a presentation to the commission at the secretariat in Amaravati between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

The Sixteenth Finance Commission, led by Chairman Arvind Panagariya, commenced its four-day visit to Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday night.
The commission members were received by Finance Minister P Keshav upon their arrival.
On Wednesday, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is slated to deliver a presentation to the commission at the secretariat in Amaravati between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Following the Chief Minister's presentation, the commission will hold meetings with representatives of various political parties in the state. The day will conclude with an official dinner hosted in Vijayawada at Berm Park.
The visit will conclude on Friday, April 18, following an early morning visit to the revered Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirupati. The commission members will then depart for Delhi.
The Sixteenth Finance Commission was established on Dec. 31, 2023, under Article 280 of the Constitution of India. Its primary mandate is to formulate recommendations on the distribution of tax revenues between the Union and the states for the five-year period commencing April 1, 2026.
The commission comprises the following members:
Chairman: Dr. Arvind Panagariya (former vice-chairman of NITI Aayog).
Secretary: Ritvik Ranjanam Pandey.
Members: Ajay Narayan Jha, Annie George Mathew, Manoj Panda, and Soumya Kanti Ghosh (part-time).
The commission is mandated to submit its recommendations by Oct. 31, 2025.
