Karnataka Registers More Than 38,000 Cases, 49 Deaths

Tamil Nadu Reports Over 28,000 Fresh Cases, 53 Deaths

Mumbai Records Less Than 1,500 Cases
Mumbai recorded 1,384 new Covid-19 cases and 12 deaths in the previous day, according to an update from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.

Covaxin, Covishield Get Nod For Full Use
The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation has upgraded the permission for Covaxin and Covishield from restricted emergency use to normal drug permissions in the adult population, ANI reported citing Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
Weekend Curfew Lifted In Delhi
The District Disaster Management Authority has decided to lift weekend curfew. Some other decisions taken today:
Bars, restaurants and cinema halls allowed to open with 50% capacity
Odd-even system of opening of shops has been done away with.
Number of guests allowed in marriages increased to 200.
Governmentt offices can operate with 50% capacity
The decision to reopen schools will be taken in next meeting.
Delhi Will Report Less Than 5,000 Cases: Health Minister
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said that Delhi will report less than 5,000 cases today and the positivity rate will also come down from the existing 10%, reported ANI.
New Cases Rise To 2.86 Lakh
New Covid-19 cases in India rose for the second straight day but stayed below the 3-lakh mark at a time the Omicron variant spreads rapidly.
The nation reported as many as 2.86 lakh fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update on Jan. 27.
Daily recoveries exceeded 3 lakh, for the first time at least since June last year. India’s recovery rate stands at 93.33%.
The Omicron tally is not updated on the government's PIB website.
