Indian Stock Volumes Plunge as Deluge Paralyzes Mumbai: Chart

(Bloomberg) -- Trading volumes on India's $2 trillion stock market plummeted on Wednesday morning after the heaviest rainfall since 2005 brought Mumbai to a standstill the previous day. Business was about 32 percent below the 30-day average for the time of day, data compiled by Bloomberg show. The picture may not change much as staffing at broker offices, banks and clearing houses remains minimal, said Deven Choksey, managing director of K.R. Choksey Shares & Securities Pvt.
