Anand G Mahindra, the chairman of business conglomerate Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. expressed his views on the evolving landscape of international trade and said, "markets have swung, supply chains are shifting, and global alignments are in a flux."
"The rules of international trade are being rewritten", and this is a "new world of uncertainty", he said at the annual general meet of Tech Mahindra Ltd.
The world has transformed in unimaginable ways over the past one year with key geopolitical shifts, Mahindra noted, with his comments coming in the backdrop of US President Donald Trump's tariffs tremors revamping trade partnerships and relations; climate change triggering extreme weather conditions and, natural disasters; and escalation of wars in the Middle East, and between Ukraine and Russia.
"It is almost as if some unseen force is wielding a giant kaleidoscope, and every twist of the lens causes a pattern to disappear and reappear in a new and unfamiliar form," he said.
Trust as a value, according to the chairman, is Tech Mahindra's currency and the company's understanding of Artificial Intelligence is its edge, "I would like to believe that our reliance on the twin pillars of trust and effective application of AI is a major contributory factor to the progress your company has made in garnering major logos."
Further he also delved into how AI as a force has reshaped businesses and society, how using AI effectively can make a company stand out in this era and how Tech Mahindra is ready to "rise" on the strong foundation that the company has laid in the first year of its transformation.
