Ryanair Scraps 190 Flights as German, Spanish Crews to Strike

(Bloomberg) -- Ryanair Holdings Plc said it will have to cancel services Friday after cabin crew unions in Germany, Spain, Belgium, Holland, Portugal and Italy called a strike.

Only a “tiny minority” of staff are involved in the action, Ryanair said in a statement on Tuesday, adding that the scrapped services amount to 8 percent of the planned schedule and will affect about 30,000 customers.

The strike is the latest salvo from pilots and flight attendants involved in a year-long industrial dispute that's seen hundreds of flights hit and fares slide. Ryanair said it has made “significant progress” in talks over recent weeks, culminating in accords with some staff in Ireland, the U.K., Italy and Germany.
