Power Grid Corp. of India entered the data centre business by agreeing to set up one such unit at Manesar in Haryana at a cost of Rs 322 crore.
The cost is inclusive of goods and services tax, the company said in an exchange filing.
The investment comes after the Reserve Bank of India mandated digital payments entities to store customer data locally, for which it had extended the deadline from Dec. 31, 2021, to June 30, 2022.
The deadline was extended twice following requests from industry bodies.
