Ola Electric Mobility Ltd. has started the mass rollout of its latest software update, MoveOS 5, according to an exchange filing on Tuesday.

MoveOS is the company's proprietary and in-house-developed software for both its S1 range of scooters and the recently launched Roadster X motorcycles. The upgraded version allowed Ola Electric to improve its performance, enhance reliability and extend its overall range, it said.

Key Features Of MoveOS 5:

  • Improved range and enhanced riding experience: MoveOS 5 has introduced advanced battery management features on all vehicles, improving battery performance and health.

  • Enhanced convenience: DIY mode provides riders to personalise their journey by adjusting settings such as top speed, power output, throttle response, and regenerative braking.

  • Road-trip mode: It changes the group riding experience with improved coordination, real-time tracking and built-in safety features. Riders can make a group, add members and plan multi-stop routes.

  • Easy Park: The feature provides for more controlled maneuvers under tight spaces when parking. Riders can twist the throttle clockwise to go back or anticlockwise to go forward and a speed limit to 4 km per hour in both directions.

  • Safety and Security Live Location: Riders can share their vehicle’s location with others using the Vehicle HMI or the Ola Electric App.

  • SOS Alerts: The feature improves rider safety by allowing users to pre-select emergency contacts via the Ola Electric App.

  • Find My Vehicle: The feature makes it simpler for riders to identify their vehicle easily in crowded or low-visibility areas.

  • Notification Centre: Riders can receive important phone notifications from selected apps directly on the vehicle’s HMI, with intuitive controls to switch between full message content, notification counts, or disable alerts entirely for a distraction-free experience.

  • The Cricket Widget: It will show live match scores, and the weather widget provides real-time updates on temperature and AQI based on the rider’s present location.
