NSE CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan Receives 'Lifetime Achievement Award'
Ashishkumar Chauhan, the chief executive of the top stock exchange, was conferred the award at Outlook Business Spotlight event.
Ashishkumar Chauhan, managing director and chief executive officer of the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd., was presented with 'Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the Outlook Business Spotlight – Enterprise and Leadership Awards 2025, held in Bengaluru on June 27.
"The prestigious recognition is a testament to his exceptional leadership — going beyond conventional success, embracing innovations, fostering a culture of excellence and driving meaningful change across industries," a release said.
Chauhan is an accomplished technocrat, and an alumnus of IIT Bombay and IIM Calcutta, and was a key member of the NSE’s founding team.
He played a vital role in introducing several innovations to Indian financial markets, including screen-based trading, mobile trading, mutual fund distribution through exchanges, SME equity platforms, satellite communication networks, the NIFTY index, and the equity derivatives market.
Before rejoining NSE in 2022, Chauhan spent a decade as the managing director and chief executive officer of BSE Ltd. He holds several positions, including membership in the University Grants Commission and Chancellor of the University of Allahabad.
Chauhan is a visiting faculty member at Nottingham University in the UK and Toronto Metropolitan University in Canada. His diverse career includes leadership roles at the Reliance Group and as the founding CEO of the Mumbai Indians IPL team.
