Job Satisfaction among professionals across the globe is on a decline according to a recent survey. An online survey of 3,600 business professionals across 30 countries, including India showed that job satisfaction has declined to 44 per cent from 48 per cent in 2014. In 2013, the percentage of people satisfied with their jobs stood at 52 per cent.

Global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company Accenture surveyed entry level to management professionals from small, medium and large organizations.

"Feeling underpaid is the top reason, but 'hours are too long/workload too heavy' jumped from 20 per cent last year to 31 per cent this year," the survey showed.

The report also revealed that more than half of the people surveyed would quit their jobs and be stay-at-home parents if their finances allowed it.

"Half of all respondents (51 per cent) said they would quit their jobs and be stay-at-home parents if they could afford it financially, up significantly from last year, when 37 percent reported this," Accenture said.

An equal percentage (54 per cent) of men and women will ask for promotions in 2015, the report said.

In 2014, 40 per cent women professionals asked for promotions compared to 47 per cent of their male counterparts.

However, more men seem to negotiate pay raises than women. While 67 per cent men said they had asked for a pay raise or negotiated a pay hike, the percentage of women who had asked for the same was 61 per cent.
