NMDC Sets Record Date For 2:1 Bonus Share Issue
NMDC also approved an increase in authorised share capital of the company from Rs 400 crore to Rs 1,000 crore, subject to requisite approvals.

NMDC on Tuesday set Dec. 27 as the record date for the bonus issue of equity shares in the ratio of 2:1. This comes after the BSE Ltd. and National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. approved the issuance and proposed allotment for the bonus.
The iron miner will issue 586 crore equity shares, having a face value of Rs 1 each, the company said in an exchange filing on Tuesday. The company will allot two fully paid-up bonus shares of face value Rs 1 each will be issued for every existing share of face value of Rs 1 to the eligible shareholders. These will be credited on or before Jan. 10, 2025.
The company in November had said that it will capitalise Rs 103.4 crore from Capital Redemption Reserve and Rs 482.7 crore will be capitalised from General Reserve for implementing the bonus issue.
The board also approved an increase in authorised share capital of the company from Rs 400 crore to Rs 1,000 crore, subject to requisite approvals.
NMDC Q2 Performance
NMDC reported a 17% year-on-year rise in net profit for the second quarter of this financial year at Rs 831.20 crore, compared to Rs 571.60 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Revenue increased by 23% year-on-year for the three months ended September, reaching Rs 4,919 crore. Operating income, or earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation, rose 16% year-on-year to Rs 1,386 crore. The Ebitda margin expanded to 28.2% from 29.7% in the same period the previous year.
NMDC Shares Fall Over 2%
NMDC stock fell as much as 2.42% during the day to Rs 227 apiece on the NSE. The stock closed 2.21% lower at Rs 227.51 per share. This compares with a 1.35% decline in the benchmark Nifty 50. It has risen 16.34% in the last 12 months and 7.60% year-to-date.
Out of 22 analysts tracking the company, 13 maintain a 'buy' rating, three recommend a 'hold,' and six suggest 'sell,' according to Bloomberg data. The average 12-month consensus price target implies an upside of 20.5%.
