New Honda Amaze Breaks Cover In Rivalry Against Maruti Suzuki Dzire
The new Honda Amaze is priced at Rs 8-10.9 lakh, ex-showroom India. Deliveries will commence from January 2025.
Honda Cars India Pvt. Ltd. has launched the third-generation Amaze in India, stepping up the rivalry against the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire in the compact sedan space.
The new Amaze is powered by the tried-and-tested 1.2-litre petrol engine—90 BHP of power, 110 Nm of torque—that does duty on the outgoing model. The fuel economy is rated at 18.65 km/litre for the manual model and 19.46 km/litre for the automatic.
Honda has claimed best-in-class safety for the new car with segment-first ADAS across all three variants—V, VX and ZX. All of them are offered with a manual and continuous variable transmission. LED lights are standard all around.
The new Honda Amaze is priced at Rs 8-10.9 lakh, ex-showroom India. Deliveries will commence from January 2025. The car comes in six colour ways—white, grey, red, blue, silver and brown.
The launch of the new Honda Amaze follows that of the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire last month. The best-selling compact sedan is the first five-star rated car from India’s largest carmaker. In fiscal 2024, 36,017 Amaze cars were sold, as against 1,64,517 Dzire units. And while the Dzire clocks 12-13,000 units/month, the Amaze has averaged 2,000 units/month so far this fiscal.
Still, the new Honda Amaze aims to build on the success the model has enjoyed so far in India. The car sold more than one lakh units in the first year itself, but the going has been rough since then. Honda has sold 5.80 lakh Amaze units in the past 11 years.
