NCC Gets Rs 2,130-Crore Construction Order In Amaravati Capital City Project
NCC will build roads, drains, water supply, sewage, utility ducts for power and ICT and other facilities in Amaravati.

NCC Ltd. on Wednesday announced it secured a contract worth Rs 2,129.6 crore from Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority for construction activities in the Amaravati Capital City Project.
The company will build roads, drains, water supply, sewage, utility ducts for power and ICT, reuse waterline and avenue plantation etc. at Zone-12 village area in Amaravati, according to a stock exchange filing.
The construction work will be completed in three years and the defects liability period will be two years.
Earlier this week, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu approved land allocations for various entities in the greenfield capital city of Amaravati, as well as the provision of free power to weavers, among other decisions.
The authority will approve 22 works worth Rs 22,607 crore for L1 bidders.
Work for the Amaravati capital restarted in June last year, with activities commencing at Uddandarayunipalem, where the foundation stone was originally laid.
Amaravati was a meticulously planned project inspired by global cities like Singapore. Spanning 217 square kilometres and divided into nine theme cities and 27 townships, Amaravati was designed to be developed in three phases: the seed area or core capital, the capital city, and the capital region. This sustainable city was to be connected by e-buses, water taxis, metros, and bicycles, reflecting a commitment to eco-friendly infrastructure.
Naidu has said the state will begin work on Rs 1 lakh crore worth of investments, which will be completed within three years.
Shares of NCC closed nearly 3% higher on Wednesday at Rs 196.95 apiece, compared to a 0.2% advance in the benchmark BSE Sensex.
