Maruti October sales jump 85% on rising demand for Dzire and Ertiga

Maruti Suzuki, India's biggest car manufacturer has reported an 85 per cent year-on-year jump in sales in October. Shares in the company gained on the back of strong demand for passenger vehicles.

Maruti said total sales, including exports, stood at 1.03 lakhs in October against 55,595 units in the same month last year. Sales were driven by passenger cars such as Swift and Dzire and the recently launched Ertiga.

Shares in the company traded 1.2 per cent higher at Rs 1,454 on the BSE in line with the broader BSE auto index, which traded with 1.25 per cent gains.
