mAadhaar, the mobile app developed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which allows users to carry their Aadhaar details on their phone has a new security feature to safeguard personal biometric details. The app now has a 'time-based OTP' to as an extra layer of safety. The app - in its beta version - displays demographic data that is available on the Aadhaar card including name, date of birth, gender, address and photograph.
The Aadhaar body, UIDAI, has introduced a new security feature (TOTP) to mAadhaar after receiving an overwhelming response of over 1 million downloads in just last two months since its launch in July this year.
