L&T Construction Wins Orders Worth Over Rs 5,000 Crore

L&T or Larsen & Toubro's construction arm has won orders worth Rs 5492 crore across various business segments, the company said in a regulatory filing on Monday.

L&T said it had secured orders worth Rs 2768 crore in the buildings and factories business - for the construction of a mixed use development complex in Mumbai which will consist of eight residential towers and a commercial building spread over an estimated total built-up area of 35 Lakh square feet. The project's scope involves civil, structural, architectural, finishes, mechanical, electrical and plumbing works, it said.

The other order was in the power transmission and distribution business worth Rs 984 crore in both the international and domestic markets, including add-ons, L&T said.

"New orders and variations have been won from various reputed customers in the Middle East which includes engineering, procurement and construction of 220kV and 132kV substations and power upgradation works at certain," it said.

L&T also received orders in the water and renewable energy business worth Rs 188 crore from the Rural Water Supply & Sanitation Department for the construction of intake wells, water treatment plants and a raw water pumping main in the Medak district of Telangana along with associated electrical, mechanical and instrumentation works.

Besides the new projects, the company has received additional orders worth Rs 1552 crore from various ongoing jobs of other businesses of L&T Construction, it said.

The L&T stock rose marginally from Friday's close of Rs 1734.25, before settling at Rs 1731.40 at 12:49 pm, down 0.16 per cent. The broader Nifty and the Sensex were also trading flat at the time.
