Jindal Steel and Power Shares Pare Losses After Winning Coal Linkages

Jindal Steel and Power wins coal linkages for power plants.

Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. announced that its captive power generation plants in Chhattisgarh have secured long-term coal linkage of 1.18 million tonnes per anum for its captive power generation plants in Dongamahua and Raigarh in Chhattisgarh.

The linkage will enhance fuel security for its power plants, the company said in a press release.

The 1.18 MTPA coal linkage to our captive power generation facility significantly enhances the operational efficiencies of the power plants. In line with our philosophy, our prudent bids ensure that we get constant supply of coal for a period of 5 years.

Uppal also said that the company is looking forward to the next round of coal linkage auctions to further enhance long-term fuel security requirements.

Shares pared losses seen in early morning trade and were trading at Rs 86.9 a piece, down 0.91 percent as of 1:35 pm on the BSE.
