Insecticides (India) Ltd. expects its newly-launched ‘revolutionary’ product, Centran, to touch a topline of Rs 100 crore in the next two years, Managing Director, Rajesh Aggarwal, told NDTV Profit on Thursday.

The company, earlier this week, announced the launch of its “new revolutionary insecticide”, Centran, to tackle stem borers in paddy. Insecticides (India) claimed that this product will help control stem borers and help farmers achieve healthier crops with its “dual-action” formula.

“In two years’ time itself, this brand Centran should touch Rs 100 crore (topline) and bring in Rs 50 crore in the first year, which will be FY26,” he said.

During the first two months, Insecticides (India) expects a revenue of Rs 10 crore coming from the product.

“This will be a small trial launch time where, again, we should be able to touch Rs 10 crore in two or three months. So I take it as a big product,” Aggarwal said.

He revealed that the company has plans to come up with a liquid formulation of Centran in the near future.

“This is a granular formulation which is launched into the market, and very soon we are also going to come up with the liquid formulation of the same. With the supplementing liquid formulation also coming in, that is also going to give it a big lead,” Aggarwal said.

The company also plans to extend the product’s use beyond paddy. “We expect that apart from the paddy, we are going to extend this crop product to other crops also,” he said.

Centran is part of Insecticides (India)’s efforts to focus on the premiumisation of its products, the top executive mentioned.

“This is an effort in our exercise, where we are trying to launch premium offerings to the market, which can give a better solution to the farmer so that he gets a proper solution,” he said.

The company is targeting at least 25% growth from its premium product range in the next fiscal, Aggarwal revealed.

“You will see growth continuously happening actually because the entire target of growth is from the premium product segment alone. The target for next fiscal year will also be minimum growth of 25% from the premium product range,” he noted.

Shares of Insecticides (India) Ltd. fell nearly 1% to touch an intraday low of Rs 655.35 per share on the NSE on Thursday. The stock was trading at Rs 657.55 at 2:11 p.m., while benchmark Nifty 50 was down 0.61% at 23,543.95 points around the same time.
