HCL Technologies on Thursday said that Anant Gupta, president and chief operating officer of the company has been elevated to the position of president and chief executive officer with effect from January 17, 2013.
Mr Gupta replaces Vineet Nayar, who will continue as the vice chairman and joint managing director of HCL Tech till July 2013 and as vice chairman thereafter.
Mr Nayar's focus will be on relationship with key customers and leadership development, HCL Tech said in a statement.
HCL Tech has appointed S Madhavan as additional director of the company with effect from January 15, 2013.
