Ghazal Alagh Responds After Woman Asks People To Throw Mamaearth Products In Dustbin
The interaction spurred other users to share their own opinions about Mamaearth products.

In a recent social media incident, Mamaearth's co-founder Ghazal Alagh addressed concerns raised by a user on X about the company's products.
The user, Aditi (@Sassy_Soul_), who has over 80,000 followers, posted a picture of Mamaearth products with the caption: "If you see these products anywhere, immediately pick them up, throw them in the dustbin, and run away". This post quickly went viral, garnering 4.4 million views.

Alagh responded by saying Aditi's post had not pointed out any specific issues. "Just sorry you woke up with a lot of hate. I hope you feel better soon. I would have loved to address if there was a problem. But I couldn't find any apart from you hopping onto a Twitter trend and finding a picture of the products," Alagh wrote.
Alagh assured that the quality of Mamaearth products comes with her "personal guarantee" and encouraged users to reach out if they have any issues. "I am just a DM away and if any of my consumers have feedback or issues with any Mamaearth product, I will get back to them," she added.

In response, Aditi reiterated her criticism, stating that Mamaearth could not handle honest reviews. She posted, "You guys can't handle honest reviews. You are being defensive here, but I'm glad that you are ready to address the issue. This is not just my experience alone, if you check people have said the same thing. Their experience has been the same."

The interaction spurred other users to share their own opinions about Mamaearth products. Comments ranged from support for the brand to skepticism about Aditi's motives:
One user commented, "Actually not worth you are absolutely right. Don't know why and how they made these products which has no positive impact on skin or body."

Another user offered support for Mamaearth, writing, "Hi @GhazalAlagh: One of our close family friend is a renowned dermatologist in India and she has shared positive feedback about your products which she has received from her patients. @Sassy_Soul_ is here trying to spoil your well-established brand as it looks like she has been paid for it. Don’t let her run freely and please do ask the details of buying your products—store name, date, invoice, name the product, payment method, online or over the counter etc. I bet she won’t have anything to share."

Some users defended the brand, suggesting that Aditi's tweet stemmed from personal animosity rather than genuine product issues. "Your tweet seems to be some personal hatred instead of product issue. I have been using Mamaearth products and they are pretty fine," one user wrote.

Amidst the controversy, another user highlighted a broader issue with consumer awareness: "Largely, almost all the Indians are fooled daily by cosmetics and other manufacturing companies of various types of food & beauty-based consumer products. Citizens do not carefully read the back labels & its list of key ingredients, but only believe advertising commercials."
