FPI Stay Net Buyers For Longest Stretch This Year

Overseas investors remained net buyers of Indian equities for the ninth day in a row on Wednesday.

Foreign portfolio investors net bought equities worth Rs 1,061.9 crore Wednesday, as per data from the National Stock Exchange. It is the longest buying streak so far in 2022.

On the other hand, domestic institutional investors net sold equities worth Rs 768.45 crore.

Institutions had net bought Rs 3,978.3 crore worth of equities last month in July. It is the only month of the year when institutions remained net buyers.

Institutions have net bought Rs 6,828 crore worth of equities so far in August and net sold equities worth Rs 41,611.7 in 2022.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex ended 36 points lower to close at 58,817. The Nifty 50 retained above the 17,500 mark to close at 17,534.

The benchmark indices ended flat on Wednesday amid rising volatility in the stock market.
