(Bloomberg) -- Facebook Inc. services including its main social network, Instagram and WhatsApp went offline for some users on Friday, according to Down Detector, a website that tracks outages.
The problems started just after 1 p.m. New York time, and Down Detector shows that there were more than 100,000 reports of service interruptions for Instagram alone. A Facebook spokeswoman cited an unspecified “technical issue” for the outages, and said the glitch had been fixed.
“Earlier today, a technical issue caused people to have trouble accessing some Facebook services,” the spokeswoman said in a statement. “We resolved this issue for everyone, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
