Elon Musk's Net Worth Rockets Past $400 Billion, Bezos, Zuckerberg Trail In Billionaire Race
Elon Musk's fortune has grown by an astounding $218 billion since the start of 2024.

SpaceX Founder Elon Musk has become the first billionaire to surpass $400 billion in net worth, solidifying his position as the world’s richest individual. Musk's net worth has reached $447 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, and achieved a one-day wealth increase of $62.8 billion on Thursday—the largest on record.
His fortune has grown by an astounding $218 billion since the start of 2024, making him the biggest wealth gainer among the world's richest individuals. In comparison, Bezos and Zuckerberg faced a widening gap in wealth relative to Musk. Though, their steady gains highlight the ongoing evolution of technology and its impact on personal fortunes.
Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos ranked second on the list with a net worth of $249 billion, with his one-day wealth jump of $4.65 billion. Bezos has added $72.1 billion to his net worth since the start of 2024.
Meta Founder Mark Zuckerberg is placed third on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, as of Dec. 12, with a net worth of $224 billion, with his one-day wealth jump of $4.58 billion. Zuckerberg has added $95.4 billion to his net worth since the start of 2024.
The recent surge in Musk’s wealth was primarily driven by a massive insider share sale of his privately held company, SpaceX, which contributed roughly $50 billion to his fortune. Additionally, Tesla shares reached an all-time high on Wednesday, closing at $424.77. Tesla, the cornerstone of Musk’s fortune, has seen its shares gain 71% this year, marking its first record high since 2021, according to Bloomberg.
Musk’s financial growth also benefited from broader economic dynamics following the US presidential election last month. His ventures, particularly Tesla and SpaceX, continue to redefine technological and industrial benchmarks.
