Dunzo’s Kabeer Biswas To Join Flipkart Minutes
This comes as Dunzo struggles to find a buyer after its business took a serious hit, with rising competition in the quick commerce space.

Kabeer Biswas, co-founder of instant delivery platform Dunzo will be joining Walmart-owned Flipkart’s new quick commerce division, Flipkart Minutes, according to people in the know.
This comes as Dunzo struggles to find a buyer after its business took a serious hit, with rising competition in the quick commerce space. Biswas has reportedly quit as the co-founder of Dunzo recently. He will be joining Flipkart Minutes in January. The company, however, has not yet assigned a designation for him, and will be deciding on the reporting structure for him soon, the people quoted above said.
With the quick commerce race in India heating up, Flipkart launched Flipkart Minutes in November 2024, initially piloting in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi NCR. Minutes will now compete with Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, Big Basket Now, and Blinkit—platforms which have been operational for longer and have sizable market footprint now.
As a competing strategy, Flipkart Minutes has adopted an aggressive pricing strategy, offering a steep 22% average discount on MRP. For orders exceeding Rs 999, consumers can avail an additional 10% discount, making it the most value-driven platform. This is particularly evident in beverages, where it leads with a 20% discount, and staples and packaged foods, where it ranks among the top contenders, according to a note by Jefferies.
Dunzo's Journey
Founded by Biswas along with Ankur Agarwal, Dalvir Suri and Mukund Jha in 2014, Dunzo has been struggling for the last few years as cash burn mounted and the competition landscape changed in the presence of multiple players like Zepto, Swiggy Instamart and Big Basket Now.
Earlier, the company saw its Co-founders Agarwal, Suri and Jha exit, while Biswas waited back to find buyers for the debt-laden company. Dunzo had raised multiple rounds of funding and had big names to the likes of Reliance Retail, Google, Lightrock India and others on the cap table.
