Commercial LPG Cylinder Price Cut By Rs 102.5

Commercial LPG cylinder prices have been cut by Rs 102.5, effective from Jan. 1, extending relief to restaurants, eateries and other establishments.

A standard 19kg gas cylinder in Delhi will now cost Rs 1,998.5, according to data on Indian Oil Corp.'s website. They'll cost Rs 1,948.5 in Mumbai, Rs 2,072 in Kolkata and Rs 2,132 in Chennai.

The price cut isn't applicable to cylinders weighing 5 kg, 14.2 kg, 10 kg composite and 5 kg composite—used largely by households.

Prices are revised across all regions in India on a monthly basis, and had risen sharply in the last few months. They were increased by Rs 100 in December, bringing the final purchase price to Rs 2,101.

The last time 19kg cylinders cost as much was in 2012-13, when they were priced Rs 2,200 apiece.
