Centre, Swiggy Sign Pact To Support Gig And Logistics Sector; Aim To Create Over 12 Lakh Job Opportunities
As part of the MoU, Swiggy will conduct hiring through the NCS portal by posting verified gig and delivery job opportunities.

The Union Ministry of Labour and Employment and Swiggy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Tuesday to improve employment opportunities in the gig and logistics sector through the National Career Service portal.
The MoU was signed in the presence of the Union Minister of Labour and Employment Mansukh Mandaviya and Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, according to an official release.
The National Career Service Portal— a platform connecting job seekers and employers across India— will potentially generate around 12 lakh job opportunities in the coming two to three years, according to Mandaviya.
The MoU will "enhance gig and logistics employment opportunities on NCS and create over 12 lakh job opportunities in 2–3 years", the release stated.
Mandaviya stated that the tie-up with Swiggy will improve the portal's reach in the "fast-growing gig and platform economy" along with "enabling access to flexible" and "location-based opportunities" for millions of youths.
As part of the MoU, Swiggy will conduct hiring through the NCS portal by posting verified gig and delivery job opportunities. The collaboration will support "structured onboarding, digital empowerment, and awareness of worker welfare schemes," the release said.
The MoU will focus on inclusive hiring, promoting more job opportunities for youth, women, and employees seeking flexible work. The API-based integration will also ensure real-time job postings and seamless application tracking for users, it added.
