Sensex Ends 582 Points Higher, Nifty Reclaims 11,750: Highlights
Buying across sectors led by auto and metal stocks pushed the markets higher

Domestic stock markets registered sharp gains on Tuesday amid strength in global peers, a day after the Govardhan Puja holiday following a special one-hour "Muhurat" session on Sunday. The S&P BSE Sensex index climbed to as high as 39,917.01 in late afternoon deals, up 666.81 points from its previous close, and the broader NSE Nifty benchmark soared as much as 176.65 points to touch 11,803.80 on the upside. Buying across sectors led by automobile and metal stocks pushed the markets higher. The markets trimmed some of those gains by the end of the session. Equities in other Asian markets rose to a three-month high on Tuesday after Wall Street hit all-time highs amid hopes of progress in US-China trade talks and for another dose of policy stimulus from the Federal Reserve this week.
