Bank Holidays In February 2025: Banks To Remain Close For Up To 14 Days; Check Full List

Banks across India are scheduled to remain closed for up to 14 days in February this year due to an array of state-specific holidays as well as weekly offs. This includes eight holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, along with six weekly offs, as per the Reserve Bank of India’s bank holiday calendar.

Banks across India remain closed on national holidays, all Sundays as well as the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. Bank closure on festivals varies from state to state depending on the regional observance. Further, bank operations remain suspended on special closure announced by the Centre and government of the respective state where the branch is located.

Read on to find out the full list of bank holidays in February 2025, according to the RBI calendar.

  • Saraswati Puja: Feb. 3 (Monday) — Bank holiday in Tripura

  • Thai Poosam: Feb. 11 (Tuesday) — Bank holiday in Tamil Nadu

  • Guru Ravi Das’s Birthday: Feb. 12 (Wednesday) — Bank holiday in Himachal Pradesh

  • Lui-Ngai-Ni: Feb. 15 (Saturday) — Bank holiday in Manipur

  • Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti: Feb. 19 (Wednesday) — Bank holiday in Maharashtra

  • Statehood Day/ State Day: Feb. 20 (Thursday) — Bank holiday in Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh

  • Mahashivratri: Feb. 26 (Wednesday) — Bank holiday in Gujarat, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh

  • Losar: Feb. 28 (Friday) — Bank holiday in Sikkim

Apart from these state-specific holidays, banks will be closed for four Sundays (Feb. 2, Feb. 9, Feb. 16 and Feb. 23), as well as the second and fourth Saturdays of the month (Feb. 8 and Feb. 22).

On the days of bank holidays, one will not be able to carry out transactions or paperwork that require an in-person visit to the banks. While the RBI puts out a list on its official website, it is recommended that you check with your nearest branch regarding the bank holiday to avoid any last-minute panic.
