Bajaj Electricals Ltd. has announced a review of its corporate structure, considering the "varied nature and potential opportunities" for its consumer products and engineering, procurement and construction segments.

The company said in an exchange filing the overhaul will evaluate all options, including demergers, subsidarisation and strategic partnerships.

It will also consider housing the company's power transmission and distribution business verticals as a standalone legal entity.

The company said it intends to appoint various advisors and consultants to assist its board in evaluating the options.

Shekhar Bajaj, chairman and managing director, said in the statement that the power transmission and distribution business has grown in the past couple of years. "We believe the time is now ripe to build further on this and review our structures to enable unconstrained business growth for each business segment."

According to its website, Bajaj Electricals' power vertical has laid over 3,000 kilometres of transmission lines on turnkey basis and is involved in transmission line projects, substations, electrification projects, street and sports lighting, among others.
