Bajaj Auto Ltd. has tied up with Britain's Triumph to make mid-capacity motorcycles in India.

The two companies will take the partnership forward through a non-equity deal, Bajaj Auto said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange. The deal will help Triumph Motorcycles U.K. get access to emerging markets through Bajaj Auto's network.

With the Trimuph brand in its product range, the partnership will also help Bajaj Auto in the international market.

Established in 1902, the Hinckley, Leicestershire-based Triumph Motorcycles is the largest maker of motorcycles in the U.K. at 65,000 units a year, according to the press release.

Triumph has CKD or “completely knocked down” facilities in India where parts shipped from the U.K. are assembled. Currently, Triumph has 15 dealers across the country, according to the company's website.
