(Bloomberg) -- Despite the first increase in three years in Halloween candy prices, Americans are expected to boost spending on sweet treats this October by 4.2 percent from a year ago. Helped by improved consumer confidence, total spending is forecast to reach a record $2.5 billion, or about $20.10 per household, according to IHS Markit.
