Four ports from Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. are featured in the Container Port Performance Index 2023.

Mundra Port achieved the 27th rank, whereas Kattupalli secured the 57th spot. Hazira and Krishnapatnam ports were ranked 68th and 71st, respectively.

Nine Indian ports are among the top 100, as revealed on Wednesday, including four Adani ports. Visakhapatnam secured the 19th rank, while Cochin Port was placed 63rd. Chennai Port and Jawaharlal Nehru Port also made the list, ranking at 80th and 96th, respectively, in that order.

“We are honoured to have four of our ports recognised in the World Bank's Container Port Performance Index 2023," said Ashwani Gupta, chief executive officer and whole-time director of APSEZ. He added that this accomplishment is proof of the "hard work" of the team.

The global Container Port Performance Index is developed by the World Bank and S&P Global Market Intelligence. The index assesses the performance of ports on parameters such as productivity, efficiency and reliability. It serves as a reference point for key stakeholders, including national governments, port authorities, development agencies, supranational organisations and private operators, in trade, logistics and supply chain services.
