Fortuner, Legender Neo Drive 48V Variants: Bookings
Interested buyers, who wish to upgrade to the latest models from the Japanese company, will be able to book the new Neo Drive variants of Fortuner and Legender from June 2.
The deliveries of the new Toyota vehicles will kickstart from the third week of June. This means that people will not have to wait for a longer period to get their hands on the latest cars.
Bookings can be placed on the official website at toyotabharat.com, or customers can visit their nearby Toyota dealership.
The T48V Technology
The Neo Drive variants are powered by the company's 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that has been integrated with a 48V system. It comes with a belt-integrated starter generator and lithium-ion battery. This is aimed at delivering smoother low-end acceleration, better efficiency and quieter operations.
Much like the feature on hybrid electric systems, the battery in Neo Drive variants gets charged during deceleration.
The new Smart Idle Start-Stop function improves fuel efficiency and reduces emissions by switching off the engine whenever the vehicle is stationary, according to the company.
The enhanced efficiency and driving performance of the vehicle do not compromise payload capacity. Additionally, the Multi-Terrain Select system adjusts throttle response, braking and traction control in order to optimise performance in different terrains.
Exteriors
The Fortuner, which marked its debut in 2009 and has remained a dominant force in the premium SUV segment, retains its "bold, purposeful appeal," the company said.
As far as Legender is concerned, it will provide a more dynamic and premium experience to customers. It will come with dual-tone body colours, split LED headlamps and sleeker fascia.
Notably, both models have dual-tone leather upholstery, soft-touch materials, and ergonomic seating to enhance comfort for long travel.
Safety
A host of safety features are available in both Fortuner and Legender New Drive variants, including seven airbags, ABS, vehicle stability control with brake assist, WIL Concept Seats and Hill Assist Control. The vehicles also come equipped with Traction Control System, child restraint system, front row seatbelts with pre-tensioner and force limiter, and speed auto lock with emergency unlock, among others.
Besides these, customers must note that the Neo Drive 48V variants will have a 360-degree panoramic camera to offer a comprehensive view, a wireless smartphone charger, a Neo Drive Badge and Neo Drive boost assist.
Varinder Wadhwa, vice president, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, said that customers look forward to "advanced features and differentiated styling" in the growing SUV market in India.
"Both the Fortuner and Legender rise to meet these expectations with their bold design, powerful performance and comprehensive features, catering seamlessly to the needs of diverse users," Wadhwa added.
In order to book their Fortuner and Legender Neo Drive variants, customers can take advantage of eight-year funding plans that come with low EMIs. Also available are Toyota Smart Balloon Finance and pre-approved options for value-added services, including extended warranty and accessories.
