Toyota Kirloskar Motor India Ltd. sustained its sales momentum in Febuary 2025 on the back of "SUV-fication" of India's car market.
Total sales of the India unit of Toyota Motor Co. rose 13% year-on-year to 28,414 units units last month, as against 25,220 units in the year-ago period, according to a company statement released on Saturday.
That includes 26,414 units sold in India and 2,000 units shipped abroad.
"MPVs and SUVs continue to be the primary growth drivers, contributing 68% to overall sales," Varinder Wadhwa, vice president of the company's sales-service-used car business said in the statement. "Meanwhile, models from the small car segment are playing a significantly role by contributing to 28% of the month’s sales."
Toyota sells six SUVs, four MPVs and two cars in India. That includes the recently launched Toyota Camry sedan and the Land Cruiser 300, bookings for which have been reopened.
