Trump takes the oath of office today, marking his return to the White House for a second and final term after four years. His comeback comes in the backdrop of a high-voltage electoral campaign, that culminated in a decisive victory in the November presidential poll against Democrat rival Kamala Harris.

The ceremony is over and Trump is seen departing holding Melania’s hand.

In his inaugural speech, President Trump outlined a bold vision for his second term, pledging to reverse America's decline and usher in a new era of prosperity and national pride. Here’s a quick recap of his key points:

  • America’s Decline Ends: Trump declared an end to the country’s decline, focusing on reclaiming American greatness.

  • Immigration Control: Strong stance on immigration (as expected), vowing to deport criminals and implement stricter border policies.

  • Energy Independence: Trump announced a national energy emergency, promising to "drill baby drill" and ensure America remains the world's top energy producer.

  • Restoring Manufacturing: The administration plans to bring back American manufacturing and protect jobs.

  • Cultural and Gender Issues: Pledged to define gender based on biological reality and protect women from radical ideologies.

  • National Pride: Trump emphasised the need to honour American history and instil pride in the nation’s achievements.

As the day progresses, Trump is expected to sign multiple executive orders to begin implementing his agenda, focusing on immigration reform, energy policies, and restoring national strength.

In his inaugural address, President Trump made bold promises, including a plan to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the "Gulf of America."

He also emphasised his commitment to upholding biological gender norms, stating, “There are only two genders—male and female.”

Trump vowed to protect women from what he called "radical gender ideology" and ensure that American landmarks are renamed to honour the nation’s history and values. His remarks reflect a strong stance on cultural and societal issues, as he sets the tone for his second term in office.

President Trump has declared a national energy emergency, blaming inflation on overspending and rising energy costs.

He committed to "drill baby drill" and the White House confirmed the US will withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord.

Trump highlighted the country’s vast oil and gas reserves, saying, “It’s that liquid gold under our feet that will help to do it,” as he outlined plans to lower prices, fill reserves, and export American energy globally.

In his inaugural address, President Trump declared a national emergency at the southern border, receiving a standing ovation. He vowed to immediately halt all illegal entries and begin the process of returning millions of "criminal aliens" to their home countries.

In his inaugural address, President Trump made immigration a central focus of his agenda. He promised to deport "criminal aliens," end catch and release, and deploy troops to secure the border. Trump also vowed to reinstate his "Remain in Mexico" policy and designate cartels as terrorist organisations.

As Commander-in-Chief, he pledged to defend the country from threats and invasions at an unprecedented level. Trump also discussed tackling inflation, directing his cabinet to use all available resources to lower costs and bring down prices.

In his inaugural address, President Trump declared, “Every single day of the Trump administration, I will put America first.” He pledged to rebalance the scales of justice, create a nation that is proud, prosperous, and free, and promised that America will be far more exceptional than before.

Trump emphasised that the country is at the start of a thrilling new era of national success.

Following the gun salute honouring the new president, we’re now awaiting President Trump’s inaugural address. The speech is expected to set the tone for his second administration, outlining key priorities and plans for the next four years.

Donald Trump has officially been sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, marking the beginning of his second term in office.

As we await the official swearing-in ceremony, tech titans like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Sundar Pichai, and Mark Zuckerberg are spotted chatting with soon-to-be-appointed cabinet secretaries.

Former Presidents Bill Clinton with wife Hillary, George W. Bush with wife Laura, and Barack Obama have also arrived, though Michelle Obama will not be attending.

International dignitaries are also present: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar represents India, while Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent his vice president as a representative. Italy’s Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, has confirmed her attendance at the historic event.

Among the spotted were also Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI Inc., talking with boxer Jake Paul and his brother, wrestler Logan Paul.

After taking the oath of office, Trump will deliver his inaugural address, outlining his vision for the next four years. In his last inauguration, he spoke of ending “American carnage.” This time, he’s focused on ending “American decline,” a theme he emphasised during his pre-inaugural celebrations.

At the victory rally on Sunday night at Capitol One Arena, Trump promised his supporters that he would act with “historic speed” from day one of his White House comeback.

Donald Trump and Melania Trump have arrived at the White House, where they met the Bidens ahead of the swearing-in ceremony.

Trump’s day began with an Inauguration Day service at St. John’s Episcopal Church, attended by his wife Melania, Vice President-elect JD Vance, and his wife. The oath-taking ceremony will take place inside the Rotunda of the US Capitol.

Trump has pledged sweeping changes for his second term, including signing nearly 100 executive orders to limit immigration, boost domestic energy production, and restructure the federal workforce. He also aims to deport millions of immigrants, seek retribution against political rivals, and transform America’s role on the global stage.
