UPI Faces Another Outage As Several Users Face Issue With Payments
Scores of Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm users reportedly faced issues in accessing the UPI services.

The Unified Payments Interface system has faced another outage, as several users were unable to process their payments on Saturday. This marked the third outage in UPI services within a month's period.
Scores of Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm users reportedly faced issues in accessing the UPI services. The complaints of outage on Down Detector—a platform that tracks the outage of digital services—peaked at 12:43 pm when over 2,000 users reported issues.
Around 79% of the users faced issued related to payments, whereas 19% were unable to transfer funds, as per Down Detector. Another 2% complaints were linked to issues with purchases via UPI.
The National Payments Corporation of India, the nodal agency for digital payments in the country, acknowledged the outage through a post on social media.
"NPCI is currently facing intermittent technical issues, leading to partial UPI transaction declines. We are working to resolve the issue, and will keep you updated. We regret the inconvenience caused," it posted on X.

We regret the inconvenience caused.
Prior to the current outage, a similar spike in user complaints was seen on April 2. The bulk of those complains were related to fund transfers, followed by payments and purchases-related issues. The NCPI had then attributed the outage to "fluctuations" in the success rates of bank transactions, which resulted in slower response times across the UPI network.
This was preceded by an outage on March 26, when over 3,000 users marked their complaints on Down Detector. The outage had then lasted for around two to three hours.
