(BloombergNEF) -- Record power prices in Europe have shaken the once highly competitive British energy retail market. 25 energy retailers in the U.K have ceased trading since August 2021 – almost half of the number of suppliers in the market. Smaller, poorly-hedged retailers were the first to fail, but the collapse of Bulb Energy, with its 1.5 million customers, has led regulators to question the current regulatory setup.
