Samsung fans may have to wait longer for the launch of the Galaxy S25 Edge. The device, first teased at the Galaxy Unpacked event in January this year, was showcased at the MWC 2025 in Barcelona last month, garnering strong interest from tech enthusiasts. Multiple reports indicated that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge may be launched in April with markets like India in focus. However, the South Korean tech giant has reportedly deferred the launch.

While an official word on the reason for this delay is still awaited, speculations suggest that the recent leadership changes following the death of Samsung DX head Jong-Hee Han are behind this launch strategy.

According to the SamMobile report, Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy S25 Edge on May 13. Instead of hosting a big-scale event for the unveiling, the company may introduce the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge with just a small presentation, following the suit of Apple iPhone 16e which was launched with a press note.

It remains unclear whether the upcoming Samsung device will be available for purchase immediately after launch. This suggests that buyers may have to wait beyond May to get their hands on the Galaxy S25 Edge.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Features

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is poised to be the slimmest smartphone ever released by the South Korean tech giant. Built on a titanium frame, the upcoming device is expected to measure just 5.84mm in thickness. A leaked hands-on video has already provided a sneak peek, showcasing three colour options: Titanium Icy Blue, Titanium Jet Black, and Titanium Silver.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is set to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, which we have already seen on the S25 range. It will come with 12GB of RAM along with 256GB and 512 GB storage options.

It is likely to feature a 6.65-inch AMOLED display similar to the 6.7-inch panel on the Galaxy S25+ model.

The S25 Edge is expected to come with a dual-camera setup sporting a  200-megapixel main sensor. On the front, it will sport a 12-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

The standout feature of the S25 Edge will be its ultra-slim, lightweight design—measuring only 5.84mm thick and weighing less than 162 grams—positioning it as the sleekest premium smartphone available today. The feature, however, also brings a big problem for the phone. Owing to its size, the S25 Edge is likely to be packed with a sub-4,000mAh battery, smaller than its competitors in the market.
