Google Pixel 10 Can Get Massive Video Upgrade, Bold Colours — But Obsidian, Porcelain No More

The buzz around the forthcoming Google Pixel 10 series doesn’t seem to ease out one bit. Days after reports of an official launch on Aug. 13—the same date as last year’s Pixel 9's release—the date apparently got pushed back a week to Aug. 20.

Now, a report indicates that the Google Pixel 10 is up for a massive camera upgrade that will make jerky videos a problem of the past. Yet another says Pixel 10’s colourway seems to be missing two favourites.

Google Pixels are already a shutterbugs’ paradise, with the devices widely commended for their camera specs and image quality. However, video recording has been a thorny issue, especially when compared with the Apple iPhone. That appears to be changing for the better now.

According to an Android Headlines report, Google will launch massively improved image stabilisation, so much so that it will feel like “using a Pixel 10 on a DJI Osmo Mobile 6, but without that gimbal".

The report added that all of the Pixel 10 models—Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold—will reportedly have the image stabilisation feature.

Complemented with Video Boost, a feature that Pixels have already got, image stabilisation is poised to take overall video quality a few notches up.

As per another Android Headlines report, the Google Pixel 10 is tipped to come in the following colourway:

• Pixel 10: Ultra Blue, Limoncello, Iris, Midnight.

• Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL: Sterling Gray, Light Porcelain, Midnight, Smoky Green.

• Pixel 10 Pro Fold: Sterling Gray and Smoky Green

It appears that Obsidian and Porcelain, which have been signature colours since Pixel 6, will no longer be an option with the Pixel 10. The Midnight and Light Porcelain are still black and white but differ somewhat from Obsidian and Porcelain.
