iPhone 16 series has been in the market for almost half-a-year now. And a number of smartphones from top companies have been launched. With so much going, is Apple looking to revive and rejuvenate the iPhone as 6 months are still left to the launch of iPhone 17? Well, this time, looks like Apple is highly unlikely to introduce new colours to revive interest in its iPhone 16 lineup.

In the competitive tech market, smartphone makers have often reintroduced some of their handsets, especially the flagship devices, with certain new features such as latest colour options or upgraded editions. Similar tactics have been used by the Cupertino-based tech giant as well to remain in the spotlight.

Apple has regularly over the years released new colour options for its iPhone lineup around six months after their release. This provides customers an extra reason to go for the latest available options in the market. It also puts the iPhone back in the limelight despite smartphone launches by rivals.

However, this time, it seems Apple might just omit the new colour options for its iPhone 16 lineup, Android Headlines reported. This may have something to do with the fact that Apple has just launched the iPhone 16e, an entirely new smartphone.

iPhone 16 series: Available colour options

At present, the available colour options for iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are black, white, pink, teal, and ultramarine. For the Pro versions – iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max – customers have four different colour shades available, such as Black Titanium, White Titanium, Natural Titanium, Desert Titanium.

This means that Apple still has enough room to introduce potential colour options like yellow, green, purple or even the famous “(product)red” variant.

These are the colour options that have been implemented by Apple in the past iPhone models as well. It would be interesting if the company considers to have it in the iPhone 16 series as well. Out of the options available, the“(product)red” variant is something that Apple lovers wait for to upgrade their smartphone. Another in-demand colour option is strident yellow.

No Colour Upgrades?

Looking back at the past experiences, Apple usually introduces the new colour options in the market in the months of March or April – roughly six months after the release of its latest iPhone lineup.

Earlier, the smartphone maker did the same after the release of iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 lineups as well as the iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series. The company skipped launching the new colour options for the iPhone 15 series last year.

That said, Apple has in recent weeks unveiled a wide range of products, including the all new iPhone 16e, iPad Air and others. It remains focused on advertising the iPhone 16e, which is being called the economical version of the iPhone 16. The smartphone is only available in black and white colour options right now.

With so much action, and the spotlight, being hogged by Apple products themselves, the Cupertino-based tech major may just dump its colour-linked gameplay.
